Bright, crisp, and unmistakably fresh, Greek Peppermint Organic Essential Oil is a powerful herb for clarity, digestion and revitalisation. Steam-distilled from organically grown peppermint in Greece, this oil carries the sharp green freshness that awakens the senses, cools the body, and sharpens the mind.
Both grounding and stimulating, peppermint has been treasured for centuries — from ancient Greek bathhouses to modern aromatherapy — for its ability to refresh, soothe discomfort and restore focus.
The Story
Peppermint (Mentha × piperita) is a natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint, indigenous to Europe and the Middle East and deeply woven into Greek botanical history. The very name Mentha comes from Greek mythology: Minthe, a nymph transformed into a fragrant herb, destined to release her scent whenever touched.
Ancient Greek physicians and philosophers documented peppermint’s effects on the body and mind. Aristotle referenced it in his writings as an aphrodisiac, while Pliny the Elder noted its use in adornment, feasting, and medicine. Alexander the Great forbade his soldiers to have peppermint because it was thought to promote erotic thoughts and deplete soldiers of the desire to fight. Peppermint was burned, infused, and scattered to invigorate spaces and people.
This Greek-grown peppermint is distilled from leaves and flowers using traditional steam distillation, preserving its high menthol content and distinctive cooling clarity. The result is an oil that feels immediate, alive, and unmistakably pure — a bridge between ancient herbal wisdom and modern aromatic practice.

The Ritual
The Ritual
• For mental clarity & alertness:
Add 1–2 drops to a diffuser or inhale gently from a cotton inhaler to sharpen focus and refresh the senses during moments of fatigue.
• For digestion & comfort:
Dilute 1 drop in a carrier oil and massage clockwise over the abdomen to support digestion and ease bloating.
• For headaches & tension:
Inhale from a tissue or diffuser, or apply (well diluted) to temples and neck for a cooling, releasing sensation.
• For respiratory freshness:
Diffuse with eucalyptus, pine, or lemon to clear heavy airways and refresh the breath.
• For cooling the body:
Blend into a foot or body oil at very low dilution for a refreshing, invigorating finish — especially in warmer months.
How we use it:
For a foot cream - add together with Lavender essential oil to an unscented base cream for a cooling, soothing experience. Please note that the aroma of Peppermint is very strong and it will ‘overtake’ blends easily. It is also worth noting that Peppermint oil has been found to be successful in soothing itchy conditions but only when used at a dilution below 1%
For a sinus congestion or a headache – simply apply a drop of peppermint essential oil to a handkerchief and inhale
To support digestion or ease flatulence – dilute in a fixed oil (carrier oil) and massage the lower abdomen or specific muscle areas. Try adding some Mandarin essential oil or Sweet orange essential oil for a sweeter, gentler aroma if you prefer. For nausea/motion sickness simply inhale a drop of peppermint essential oil from a tissue.
As a ‘pick me up’, to improve alertness – simply apply a drop of peppermint essential oil to a portable inhaler.
